I need to get a sending unit from a 1967 Cadillac rebuilt.

Can anyone recommend a good place to get this done? I've seen ads in Hemmings but am looking for recommendations from other CLC members.

Thank you,

Look at item #170918701588 on E Bay, the business is in Wisconsin.
I bought a new sending unit for my '74 ELDO ,exact fit for $70.00 last April.
Its a 3 pipe st stem.  I think your car has 2 pipes.
Check it out.

I have used this company for clocks and gauges and they have done excellent and timely service. They advertise fuel guage sending unit restorations as well. Sometimes the after market sending units don't properly match up the ohm rating of the gauge giving a false reading.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your recommendations. Yes, my unit has two lines but I plan to cap off the return line as my car is not air conditioned.

I did buy an aftermarket unit a few years ago and I was very disappointed. Installation cost more than the unit (I cannot remove and install the tank myself) and I learned a painful lesson about sending unit gaskets along the way!

Air conditioned or not, I do believe you will have fewer (or no) problems with vapor lock if you retain that return line.

You make good point RE vapor lock. However, since I don't have A/C, where should I run the second line? As I understand it, A/C cars have a fitting on the carb(?) that is connected to the second line to recover the vapors from the tank.

On the 67 the vapor return line goes from the fuel filter to the gas tank.  You need the filter for an A/C car.  The parts book say it is a AC GF-97

I took your post to mean that you had the return line but were going to block it off.  Running another line would be some work but Glen pointed out the filter you would need.  Should have stayed out of this discussion I suppose.
