Are the steering column and gear box from a 1954 interchangeable with a 1953?

Thanks

I doubt as the 1954 cars are from another Generation than the '53 models.

Jon,

I believe that 1954 was the first year when the assembly was no longer one piece and you could take the gear out without removing the steering column. I believe 1953 is by itself, for 1952 they recommend in the Serviceman to use the new 1953 gear.

Is the drag linkage the same for '53 and '54 cars with power steering?

The steering drag link has a specific part number from 1950 to 1953; 1954 has another part number. 1955 and '56 has again another part number. Don't ask for the differences between them, I don't know.
