Hello everyone. I have a question about my friends 58 Cadillac. His car has sat for years and I am going to start to get it running again. My question is about the suspension. The car has had the factory air bags removed and are in the trunk. The car is basically sitting on the bump stops. Some one must have gotten half way through the conversion because there are four coil springs inside the front seat of the car. I was wondering what would have to be done to reinstate the coil springs? The car will not be seeing the road anytime soon we just need to be able to move the car every once in a while. I was looking in my 58 supplement last night and the bottom A arm looked different from the coil spring type A arm. If we are going to have to buy new A arms to convert it back to coil springs, then we will just be driving low for a while because the budget is tight.

Thanks

Gavin,

Send me a note or give me a call.  I recently acquired 2 kits,  59/60 air to coil conversion kits that Cadillac put out so dealers could convert air cars to steel coils.  Some of the parts are noted as working on the 58's as well and the lower front control arms are in that group.

I do not need both kits, and could use the air suspension parts, so I think we could work something out.
