I have a 1969 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Sedan with the AM only radio (controls in the back seat) is there a AM/FM version that can still utilize the rear seat controls, was the radio model specific for the 75 series?

Thanks!!

According to the options list, the 75 series radio with rear control was AM only.  It was $242.10 in 1969.

Wonder where they came up with that dime in the price. ..

I have cynically concluded that charging for options that include a spare few dollars and cents provides a certain "charm" to the price point, as if the "green eye shade" guys had shaved the price point down to the exact penny. My 67 Eldorado came with an AM/FM stereo... why no such standard feature in a 75 limo?

I was expecting that option to be AM only but I was hoping not!! Thanks for the information!

Would an FM radio from a later year series 75 fit the '69?

hello! I also have a 69 limo - no division - technically a 9 passenger sedan....

it has the dual am radio. It may have been AM only , because for the 69 model year only AM had the ability to automatically look for stations . If you put in an am / fm stereo unit as I did to my deville because it orig only had AM , you lose this feature. Also , back then , AM had some better features over FM , range may have been one of them!

Check into a 1970 Cadillac 75 series, maybe the FM radio controls from back seat are possible.  Given that those years 69 and 70 are very similar it may be possible to use a 1970 radio instead.  The radio changed from am to fm by pushing a mechanical button on radio face itself, which may not have been possible remotely, so Cadillac had to choose between am or fm for back seat.  Alternatively the radio could maybe be adjusted by a radio specialist re-builder who could switch it so rear controls changed fm, instead of am.

On the pricing, that 10 cents thing is done all the time.  In my own business when I want 10k for a job, I may quote $10,165 so it looks like I put a lot of thought into it, and negotiation down is less likely.
