I have a '41 60S and need to replace the 8 screws that attach the striker plates to the post (2 screws per plate): stainless, slotted, oval head, 1/4-28 thread pitch, 5/8" long. I'm not finding the right thread pitch (fine thread), and the head (slotted end) is always too large for the screw to fit inside the 2 holes in the striker plate. My research shows that head is probably the standard "14," and I need the smaller size "12" head to make the right fit (?).

Everybody has them. Fastenal, Grainger, McMaster-Carr, Amazon, etc. Just Google it. You're not going to get 5/8" exactly, so you'll have to cut them down. Seen Slotted and Phillips type available with Oval Head.. Good luck!
