Okay...so as many of you know I just started enjoying my 57.  It runs great but there are a few minor issues (all of which I'm sure can be easily remedied).  My wiper blades work...but of course they stop when I'm accelerating.  I can only get them to activate when I let off the gas.  Is there a factory or correct aftermarket vacuum reservoir that I can use or should I check my lines?  Also my brake lights have a tendency to stay on sometimes unless I pull up slightly on the brake pedal.  Is this cause for an adjustment or is something else up?  Overall I love this car....quiet...fast...smooth.  I can understand why Cadillac is superior!

Going back to the wiper blades they have a tendency of slapping against the bottom windshield trim.  Can this be adjusted so it doesn't do this or is this common?

I’m not an expert on this but I remember there was a post on here a couple of years ago about the vacuum tee on the firewall that is actually a pair of check valves.  The car has (or should have) a vacuum pump that provides vacuum when manifold vacuum is low.  The check valves provide the switching between the manifold and the vacuum pump.
If the wiper motor is worn it may make the problem worse.
The slapping maybe caused by worn linkage points.

The slapping from the blades may be the result of the wiper arms installed incorrectly or also because the cables have an insufficient tension. Look at the shop manual how to restore the tension, which is easy: rake away the wiper arm and push on the shaft.
I'm th one who wrote the story of the vacuum manifold at the firewall. After almost 60 years, the rubber valves are hard like rock and don't work anymore.

Wiper arms need to be adjusted and tensioned.  Have the wiper motor rebuilt if it hasn't been done.  You don't want to get caught in a deluge.

Brake light switch could be failing which is common on '57's.  Have you done any brake work on the car?

I have the new rubber seals for the check valve.  I was thinking about rebuilding the manifolds/check valves as I have a few cores.

Found out that the wiper blade is too long and it gets stuck on the window trim.  I checked my vacuum lines and found one that was not fully connected.  The wipers work as they should.  Managed to pull my first 🏆 too at a local car show
