I have taken the four inner window moldings off for repainting, and need to replace the inner window sweeps at the base of the four side windows. Are the "beltline weather strips (with chrome bead and mohair faced)" the same thing? Does anyone have them precut for the specific model or does one just buy six-foot lengths and cut them? Can you recommend a good source for these? I believe that Steele Rubber and Fusick both have them, at least if I am identifying the parts correctly.

Should these be stapled, or will the right adhesive do the job?

Thanks for related advice and for information about a reliable vendor.

Buy them in long lengths and cut to match the old ones.  Glue won't work for long.  Need to be stapled.  Tedious work, but worth it.

Sometimes they can be installed with small black pop rivets also.

Buy SS staples.  Use the old staple holes in the molding as drill guides to drill tiny holes in the strips, with the strips held temporarily against the molding.  Then insert the staples manually and squeeze them very tight against the strip and molding before bending over the ends.  This last part is key -- you don't want  the flange of the staples protruding and rubbing against the glass!
