Looking to redo the seats on a 1940 52 series and need to find reference photos of an original seat pattern.
Any help would be appreciated.
Here's how they are currently.

In the LaSalle book, there is a shot of an original car with beading around the front of the cushion and nothing else, just as Steve mentions. This is a photograph so you can take this one to the bank. This book also lists the standard materials which includes Bedford Cord, the easiest material to find.

Also, as nice as your current ones are, you may wish to remove them carefully and try to sell them here or on eBay. They (should) fit all 1940/41 Buick Super/Roadmaster, 1940 LaSalle 52 and Cad 62, 1941 Cadillac 62 coupes, and 1940/41 Senior Pontiacs and 1940 Olds 98. I can't remember if the coupes have an arm rest or not. Good luck.

Such a nice upholstery. Why do you want to change?

Thanks to Frank Hershey for its design and thanks to Harry Barr, Ed Cole, John Gordon and Byron Ellis for its engine.

Labarron Bonny has the patterns.
The original upholstery on a closed car would have been a ribbed broad cloth with not other pattern.
Pretty basic.

Fred, I am sorry, but I checked the LaSalle book and they offered other fabrics rather than the ribbed broadcloth. (Ron/Matt did have part #s, so I think we can assume this information was taken from a Master Parts List.)

Best thing to do is check the trim code on the firewall tag post it.
Many of us can tell you what it came with.
