Maybe not the right number  because of different solenoid but other starters do fit sometimes. A picure might help.

Could be one from this advert?

John: I have been looking up too many numbers and I am wrong on 1107908 which is for a 41 Buick 60 and not your car. The Delco Book is correct  that 1107923 is correct for your car with solenoid 1542. Buick for 41 also used 1542 as the solenoid. See if you can find the solenoid number on the 1107923. If needed I will sell you the 1542 solenoid that I have.  Bill

bill , harry scott has a starter and solenoid im going to get. with that and the one i left at a shop this am hopefully this will finally solve the problem. the man at the shop tested it and said the field coils had a break in them in addition to the break where the coils goes up to the terminal.  we are nearing the end of the wiring , so  im glad to finally find out where these problems are. thanks john
