Hi all. I've got a 57 caddy Fleetwood.  Has anyone had any issues of vibration in the higher rev ranges, both when in drive and in neutral ? Can't seem to find where this vibration is coming from. Is it a common problem ?

Any idea how high revs you are taking about?   Like 2000 or 4000?

You don't have the car driving yet so you don't know if its going to change under load?   Or have you been able to drive it some?

Hi guys. Many thanks for your replies. Have managed to sort out some timing and carburettor issues so the car is now driving. the vibration Is there when the engine is revved up - either in neutral or when driving. I have no cooling issues or water leaks so don't think it is a water pump issue. To me it sounds more like a transmission issue. Have checked fluid level which is perfect and a lovely pinky red colour so no issues there. Maybe torque converter ??? anyone had any problems here ???

Just because it isnt leaking doesnt mean it is ok.
My waterpump was just fine. No problems. But the bearing had a lot of slop. Replaced it and vibration went away.
I would suggest you at least undo the belts and give the fan a wiggle before you dismiss the waterpump.

Also check the trans and motor mounts, look for dried up, cracked and brittle rubber.
