i am contemplating buying a 1937 lasalle 4 door sedan.
how easy is it to purchase parts for the car?

Relatively easy. Most of the chassis parts are the same as 60 series Cadillac and some parts are the same as small series Buicks.  Engine parts are similar right through 48.
