39 Lasalle stalling when going uphill--what is it??

Can you help me please?  My 39 Lasalle runs fine on the level but acts like it's starved going uphill.  I know there is a vacuum line to the fuel pump but I don't know what it does.

I have an electric fuel pump but still have the stalling problem.  I don't know what the correct pressure setting should be?

Any ideas??

The vacuum line from the pump is your wiper assister, it should go on to your wipers.  The stalling on a hill sounds like you have the wrong carburettor flout level set.

One way to check the tank level is to reverse up a hill, and see if that works.

Years ago, my Dad had a '36 Ford Sedan, and once we were climbing a hill, and it stalled, so he turned the car around and reversed up and over the hill.

Definitely couldn't do this on the roads these days as there is too much traffic around, and the Laws limit the distance one can reverse on a road.
