But you could buy a 76 Seville in what April or May of 75?

Your point?  ???

Just that in this case there is justification for a little confusion because the 76 Sevilles came out several months ahead of the rest of the models.     I thought that may be an important detail in case someone out there clearly remembers having a Seville in their driveway in spring of 1975.   They can feel better knowing their memory is still good.

It's not uncommon for an all new model to be introduced early. I also recall seeing the new "bathtub" 1991 Caprices in showrooms in April 1990, possibly even earlier.

The fact remains however that as in the Caprice example, the VIN records these cars as no earlier than 1976 models just as the VIN for the new Caprice body lists the redesigned model no earlier than 1991 despite early release in the preceding year.

Thanks.
