Hey Chuck how are yeah? I second Jose's comment regarding using a leveler with your engine hoist, (and hood off as well).There will be a massive weight re-distribution when you remove both engine and transmission together. The leveler can assist in that regard and minimize bumping and scraping your engine compartment during the removal process. Attached is a photo of what a '56 Caddy engine and trany look like out of the car together. Recommend using chains rated for the load which is probably 900 - 1000 lbs combined, as shown. Good luck!
