All:

This is not Cadillac related however I know that someone else on here has been burned by this vendor.  I do not like to throw a vendors name out to forums unless they've really done me wrong. On March 3rd 2017 I ordered what was described as a fully restored 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe dash clock. The item was listed at 250 at the following link:

http://www. >:( >:( >:(.com/1940-Chevrolet-Clock-Rare-Chevy-Master-85-Specia-p/cl-c-1940w.htm

I contacted the store owner and asked if he would take my dash clock as a core as it was non-working and in excellent shape. The owner agreed and said he'd give me 50 bucks for the core. I paid him the 200 plus 11 for shipping and then sent him my core two weeks later. This is where the nightmare begins.

As of today May 31st I have no clock and I'm still out 261 dollars. I have had nothing but empty promises from this guy that "my clock is in route" and "sorry for the delay its coming". I attempted to file a dispute through PayPal but I failed to escalate it higher when the owner said that it was "in route to my house". I still do not have a clock. I'm about to file a fraud case with VISA since I still have neither my clock or my money. I'm hoping that I'll get this resolved soon as its been 3 months with absolutely nothing. Take my warning fellas...stay clear of this vendor!!

Tim,

Thanks for posting this.  Anything negative, albeit likely truthful, will be taken down by the moderators.

Also going forward, never send in a core for credit unless the replacement is in your possession and checked as accepted.

Sorry you suffered thru this.

Such a bummer.  I was recently scammed by someone named Gary Benefield who found me on the forum.  I filed a fraud claim, but not sure what will come of it.  Best of luck!

Iffin it were me, I'd get in my little unit (car), drive over to where he is at and have a word with him.  And call the cops.

Interesting. I shipped my clock to this same person and received it back in 4 weeks. I was actually referred to him by someone I met at a car show in Atlanta because that's where he got his clock fixed for his oldsmobile. Sorry to hear about your situation. I will admit I did start to get a little nervous, hopefully it all works out in the end.

Fairly easy to ID the vendor from the info provided. Interestingly, there is a section where the business is for sale. This would indicate that the vendor is not 100% committed to the service.

The problem is that internet fraud is so bad now the law just files the small fraud cases away. A friend bought a truck and got burnt for $8,000. two years ago. He has now kissed his money good bye saying the police are just over whelmed with all the cases they have to deal with. What even makes things worse is if you dealt out of country or even state involving two jurisdictions for a couple of hundred bucks. They are after the big fraudsters.

Well honestly I've waited long enough.  He said the clock was in route last week and I still haven't received any tracking information.  I've filed a fraud case with Navy Federal since the funds came out of my Navy Federal VISA.  If somehow by some divine act the clock shows up I'll cancel the claim but I seriously doubt that is going to happen.  At this point I'm just waiting for the case to refund my money so I can buy a used dash clock on Ebay.  I've missed multiple car shows in my 1940 due to the big hole in my dash where my clock used to be.

One would think, if nothing else, on receipt of your core he would rebuild it and send it back to you?

He must be working on other plans at the moment?
