I guess there seems to be a lasting attachment to these "friends" of ours.  About 8 years ago I sold my '66 which had been my daily driver for nearly 20 years to a fellow in the UK.  Yesterday he sent me an update on how the car was "behaving" and a couple of pictures. Kind of like seeing a picture of a long lost friend.

How cool you stay in touch with him.
Greg, when cars are loved and lived with, they have souls, I'm convinced.
They're not just machines...

I think you are right. I even remember what my 41 Chevy (my first car 60 years ago) smelled like.

When the 55 moved under its own power for the first time in 20+ years I sent a quick text and picture to the son of the guy who had it (we bought it from the son). I think he appreciated it but he already had my $$.

OK, I admit it, I might be wrapped a little too tight when it comes to The Ark, LOL! Now that he's home, everything seems 'normal' again, all is right with my world. Shout out to the lovely Tenley Skolfield who picked up yours truly, and my old trusty Autozone Duralast Gold battery, and drove us to the world famous Hyannis Vintage Auto to recover The Ark. New battery ground cable installed, old trusty Duralast battery installed, and the hideously overpriced $359 Battery Central Mall replica battery is boxed and ready to return, for the last time. I want my money back, now. Can one reasonably expect a 2 month old $359 Optima battery to START, to HAVE A CHARGE when left alone for 4 days? And no, The Ark has no ghost draw, crew chief Michael Amster would have seen that, alerted me and corrected it. So there.

As Bill Belichick would say - WE'RE ON TO FALMOUTH. Tomorrow, 10am-3pm at the Falmouth Public library, we look forward to seeing you.

Falmouth... = fuel. Took The Ark immediately to Station Ave Sunoco for a full tank of Ultra, don't a$k. Added the cup (8oz) of Marvel Mystery Oil as directed by Gary Amster to the fill up. Then home for a shower, towel dry, and some cleaning. The Ark got pretty dusty in the warehouse during the week. I'll save the fine tuning until we're parked tomorrow.

Its a horse show... not only do you need the make up and accessories for the car display, you have to pack your iced coffee, soda's, water, sandwiches, etc. for the day as well.

This is so much fun... I'm so damn blessed sometimes I have to pinch myself. JUST BLESSED.

Car laundry in process, grill heated for a steak, pups fed and asleep and its still warm enough for an outdoor shower. Can life get any betterer? I think not. Hope you all had a wonderful day.

Heck, the Optima Battery in my boat will start the engine after 6 months of sitting.
