No matter what i tried, wrench, socket this is the most efficient tool i made for adjusting the needle valves. A nut driver and rubber tube.  66 deville

If you have the bits that looks like it would work in many cases.   Its when you run into some of the odd shaped screws you end up having to buy a tool which is what I ended up doing many years ago.   Its a nutdriver with a speedometer cable.   I still run into stuff that it doesn't work on but when they put something 1/2" in front of the screw not much you can do other than remove something.   I think mine is a Lisle brand one and I paid like $30 for it but it was worth it.   Looks like now they can be had for $10.

Well this works good for me, good and flexible and cheap, maybe $.10.

So were your adjustments successful?   Rochester or Carter?   Did they put the AC compressor in the way on those like they did in later years too?

It would be handy to have a section dedicated to diy tools or alternative uses for tools.  I know I have a drawer full of stuff I have made or things that I just went hmmm...  bet that would work for this.

Hey TJ   yes it made the job much easier. Rochester. The needle screws are easy to get too except for some spark plug wires and a water hose.

That's a good idea for a post. Do it.
