1932 Cadillac ser 370 V12 blue dot tail light

My 1932 Cadillac ser 370 V12 has got blue dot tail lights. They look authentic, but are they?

they are, stop light and back up light. '32 and '33 illegal in some states back in the days, white dots were supplied there.

I've had & looked at lots of these cars. Never saw a white dot. Only red or blue.

I don't think I have ever seen any factory tail light fitted with Blue Dots.

Here in Australia, Blue Dots are illegal, as the only lights than are allowed to be seen from the rear of any vehicle, apart from emergency vehicles is Red and Amber, for Indicators, and a White Light, which can only be illuminated when the vehicle is travelling in reverse.

As an aside, another reason why Blue Dots are bad is when travelling behind a car fitted with Blue Dots, is that the light is blinding for the driver, and even worse when it is raining.

They DID have blue dot tail lights in 1932/33. The next time you're in Perth, stop by Ross' place & look at some. They were illegal in Kalifornia. I've never had the experience of following a blue dot tail light in the rain.
