On the trunks of 1940 50 series sedans, convertible sedans and coupes is an emblem consisting of a "V" surrounding the LaSalle coat of arms. Neither of my convertible coupes has one, but I found an original 5067 with one. Is it supposed to be there?

Per authenticity manual which was reviewed by several people, convertible coupes and coupes did not have the emblem.  It seems to be a popular thing to do though and I wouldn't be surprised if a few were done at the dealer level when they were new.

My '41 convertible coupe has the trunk emblem, though they weren't designed with them. The previous owner said it was there when he bought the car in 1965, so who knows....?
