So it appears that my vacuum pump has taken a dump and its caused my wipers to stop working properly.  While conducting some tests and tightening some fittings I noticed that my pump appears to be the incorrect pump.  From my research it appears that someone placed a 1940 fuel pump on my engine.  Its the type with the glass bowl up top and the vacuum pump below.  The fuel pump works fine but its annoying to not have my wipers working.  I'd like to replace the unit with the correct one.  Can anyone tell me the what the AC model number is for the correct pump?  Thanks.

FWIW, I believe the '37's originally had the glass bowl on the side.  It is shown on page 37 in the '37 Cadillac authenticity manual.  I believe it is also shown in the shop manual.  Don't remember the AC number.  As Glen said, the replacement, which began in 1939, is the AC 575 which has the glass bowl on top.  There may have been a service letter describing the change.

Hi Tim,
Did it ever work? I can't remember what you had said, but of you took it apart you have to put the valves back in right and then there is an outlet and inlet. A pump from a 40 will work regardless. Anyway the 37 pump AC number is 1523866. On the top of the flange mount there will be 3866 stamped on it. Attached are two pictures for reference.
