You would think so but for whatever reason they didn't do it that way.

Even correctly installed, part of the grip area still extends into the 10/2 positions.

OH eyes of the eagle.
Apart from the grip issue - the droopy trim is a bush league screw-up.
I sure wouldn't use that side view on my restoration shop business card - YIKES.
