Is there any reason why a pump from 66 or 67 (both with 429's) would not work on my 65?  The pump on my 65 is not the original (or the correct one), so I'm wondering what it might have come from.

Thanks.

If you can find the numbers on it, and post, probably can look it up and
cross the '65 pump when I look up the number.   Books are down the garage.

iamCrom,

The oil pump is an intregal part of the engine front cover  for 429's. Each year from '63 -67, that cover has a different PN meaning they are different in some way. I don't know whether the cover mounting bolts to the engine are the same all years  meaning the covers may not be intercgangeable among the different years. Additionally, the pump gear sets have different part numbers '64-65 and '66-67.

Everything I can find shows that the 66 and 67 pump are the same but the 65 pump is substantially different.  The 65 pumps are available, so why not get the correct one?
