I have a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special that had a recent frame on restoration. I got the car in May of this year.  Took it out for a drive and it was getting no gas to the carb.  The professional company that restored the vehicle took it back put it a new fuel pump; new plugs; changed oil and fixed oil leak.   I got it back on Friday and took it out for a long drive yesterday.  Worked great.  Took some friends out and drove great.  Started to drive home last night and it started and drove a few blocks and stopped.  It cranked but would not start.  Had it towed home.  I put in about 10 gallons of gas in the am and only drove maybe 10 miles.  Any ideas?

:)   Agree, worth it to go out of your way to get non-ethanol gas for your car.

Could be vapor lock but could also be a bad coil. Years ago I had a similar issue, could not figure it out. Problem went away with a new coil.

David,
Is there any gas in the glass filter bowl leading to the carburetor? Peep down the carb with the air cleaner off (motor not running) and operate the throttle linkage to see if gas is in the carb. If the motor is getting gas look at it's spark. Fundamentals.....it takes miles of driving to work out all the bugs after a car has been taken apart to gain confidence....walt....tulsa,ok....
