Several ribs are sagging in my 1970 Coupe DeVille headliner. I push them up but they won’t stay up. What is supposed to hold them in place?

They won't stay up in the middle or on the sides?

The headliner sags along the seams that the ribs won’t stay up. I’ve tried to get them to stay up hoping to get them to catch or latch into whatever keeps them in place. I’m thinking about getting shoulder seatbelt retainer clips and using them to try and hold the ribs up.

Sounds like the loops that the rods go though may be torn.

Are those ribs, the only thing that’s supposed to keep them up against the roof?
