I have a question about the number of connections that can be made to the ignition switch.

I have 3 posts for connections on my ignition switch. 2 are taken by wires that are required according to my wiring harness instructions. That leaves me with 1 available connection.

I have 2 accessories that recommend I connect to the ignition switch. They are the under dash defrosting heater (with 20 amp fuse) and the radio (with 8 amp fuse). Is it permissible to have more than 1 wire connected to a singe terminal?

If not does anyone have any suggestions on how I might accomplish connecting both of these so they have power?

Thank you
Thanks,

Hello John, according to the 1941 circuit diagram the 3 connectors on the ignition switch as seen in the diagram are for: upper left, power supply, upper right for flasher circuit, tank float, thermo gauge and starter button/relay. The lower center connection is for the armored cable that goes to the power terminal of the ignition coil. See also the included diagram.
Accessories however are connected to the front connector on the light switch. You can hook up both your accessories to this terminal but they have to be fused accordingly and that the used wires are correct for 6 volt use. If done that on my 41 coupe also and it works as it should.
Good luck.
