Gentlemen,

I've just purchased 1957 Eldorado Brougham #198 and I'm looking for the following parts:

Set of turbine (cast alloy) wheels;
Set of power seat switches;
Turn signal dashboard telltale lenses;
Dashboard LE ashtray plastic insert;
Dashboard cover (dash pad).

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Rafael de Castilho, from Brazil.

Unfortunately, I cannot help. I just have a question/suggestion about the dashboard cover. Is your missing or is the vinyl covering it severely warped?
When I restored mine for more than 30 years ago, the vinyl was warped. Finally, I sent the dash to Just Dashes. Expensive, but I don't regret it.

Hello Roger,

Thanks for replying.

Apparently my car's dash cover was replaced for one from a regular series, it is in excellent condition but it is missing the "creases" for the turn signal telltales.

See the 2pics attached, one of my car, and another one I found on the internet.

I've heard from Just Dashes and I'll contact them, let's see if they can help me somehow.

Best Regards,

Rafael Castilho, from Brazil.

The dash panel for the regular 57 and 58 models has not the same part number as the upper dash panel for Brougham models. Therefore you have the right steel element, but the restorer did a short cut by eliminating the "bumps" for the turn signals.
Maybe David Kind has some parts for you; he is on that forum and may see your inquiry.

Hi Rafael,

I have most of the items you are looking for, wheels, seat switch, dash pad, maybe a ashtray bin, but it is likely cracked.

PM me for further details.

Thanks Roger for helping clarifying the dash situation. I've learned that, unfortunately, when restoring old cars, we waste a lot of money and time reverting previous owner's bad decisions.

I'm in touch with David King and he's been very helpful.

Apparently it will be possible to return my car to its original glory.

You are right about the unnecessary work. I hope for you that you will find what's needed.

I have a set of 57 Brougham wheels/ hubcaps. Thank You,Dick Stokes

Rafa

Hello Dick,

Thank you for replying to my post.

I have already purchased the set of wheels from David King.

The only parts he was not able to help me with are the turn signal telltale lenses.

Would you have those?

Best,

Rafael.
