Hey folks,
sorry this is a dummy question, but what is the A/C part that looks like a radiator which is mounted in front of the radiator?
How often do these go bad?

Thanks much,

Brett

Condenser. Like everyting else, it can fail.

I can think of three things that could go wrong with a condensor.  The fins are damaged, it leaks, or it gets stopped up.

If the fins are damaged, you can comb them out with a fin comb.

If it leaks, you have to replace it, and at the minimum, replace the drier, evac and recharge.

If it gets stopped up, get ready for a nasty repair bill.

Also, some systems have a receiver/drier, sight glass or other component that is attached to the condensor.
