Does anyone have a 1960 Cadillac with the half leaf spring rear suspension as shown in the shop manual?  (If yes, what is your production sequence - last 6 digits of VIN?)

It appears that only the early cars were equipped with this feature.  Further, does anyone know why it was discontinued?
