1935 rumble seat convertible either stock or modified like you see on the tv shows with the modern engine and frame. I will never be able to afford one or fit into one they look pretty tight.

Geoff,

It's a few years before me, but beautiful. I recall this vintage as a used car when I was tike and budding car freak. Great two-tone colors. Many, many enjoyable miles

Thank you Ralph & Harry, excitement runs high at my house right now!   ;D

Great looking '42.  Gotta update that sig line!

Funny to think about what was going on in the world when that car was new and all the experiences it has had.

Got a chuckle on your 2nd post after reading your first post.  Quite a timely thread I would say!

;)

Now lets see the interior, the engine and the dash....

;D  No name yet, it will probably just be --- "the '42".  Other than Big Red I don't tend to name my cars.

I'd probably choose one of the following:
1968 Fleetwood (slick roof or Brougham) with leather
1979 Brougham with leather

1968: I like the stacked headlights, new 472, concealed wipers, and four power vent windows. Also the safety features
1979: Excellent 425 and Turbo Hydramatic, power outside mirrors, great sound system (1977, 1978 are virtually tied)

In general I'd like traditional Cadillacs that are drivable on today's highways, yet are classic in appearance

I'd probably choose one of the following:
1968 Fleetwood (slick roof or Brougham) with leather
1979 Brougham with leather

I'd also consider a 1980 Eldorado with the 368 and DEFI.  But I'd like to be fairly sure of the reliability and/or serviceability of the fuel injection system with the new computer controls. This model has beautiful design!

Yes, am VERY impressed with Mr. Newcombe's 1942!!

I have tons of garage space, no self restraint and no wife to say no.

At this point less space or someone to question my decisions would probably be a plus  ;D
