Title: 1960 cad bearing support assy
Post by: Junkhead57 on September 18, 2014, 09:41:35 AM
I need a bearing support assembly for my 1960 series 62 driveshaft. the rubber has just deteriorated from sitting. know were I could get a good used one or a new one? I`d rather get it with a bearing as well. I think they r the same 59-62. you could call me at 203-305-2113.

thanks,Jeff

Got mine from Caddydaddy.com good idea to change the u-joints and balance the driveline while it is out.

Thanks guys! I did replace the U joints as I am planning to drive this car . That's when I noticed the rubber on the support was pretty much gone & the support was flopping around the bearing. Funny thing is in the last 3 years I`ve had over 30 ,59-60 caddys some being parts cars come thru ,the one car I want to use needs this part . I probably had them at one time. unreal!

My experience with mine as I have had them for many years is that the vulcanized rubber gets old and fatigued and tears out of the support. I have been stranded far from home in 2 of three of these cars and now as a matter of peace of mind or rather " I don't know why I go with you on these trips in these old cars they always leave us stranded".. Peace at home LOL
