I'm Marek and live in Poland. Twelve years ago my dream came true - I bought 1956 Caddy 62.
It looked to be in pretty good condition... but wasn't.
The restoration took about five years. I had to import many different new and used parts from USA to Poland.
I'm especially proud of the electric instillation - I made a new one. Now it has 20 fuses, not 5 ;). I also could not drive the caddy during rainy weather because the vacuum wiper didn't work as good as it should , so this year I changed the vacuum wiper motor with an electric one. It may be intersting for Caddy owners in Europe, because the electric motor came from Renault Laguna hatchback Mk I, it was very simply to mount, and the cost of all is about 30$.

I see that you had some rust issues but fixed them nicely. The finished
Caddy looks very nice and the color is really pretty. Great job!!
By the way, my Grandfather was born in Krakow and came here to the U.S.
around 1915. Like most Americans, I'm a mixture of backgrounds, half Polish
from my father's side and half Croatian from my mother.

Did you use the Laguna wiper motor from the windshield or from the rear window?
Did you have a look what springs from Europe could be used on front and rear?
I would like to replace mine but with those heavy items fright rates are impossible.

I found few minutes to tell about the wiper motor.
It is a rear motor from Renault Laguna MK1 htb, you can google it with this number 1397020025 - pic01.
The wiper arm moves nearly ideal to the axle angel of the vacuum motor, but I had to cut the rod and built in a plate and screw to adjust it. The length of the rod is now about 18 cm - pic1 and pic2.
The axle of the motor is shortened as much as possible, otherwise the plate would touch the air filter - pic6
I cut also the brackets and welded it in other positions, and placed a 4 cm long sleeve between the plate and body - pic3
Everything is mounted with 3 screws - pic4.
To switch on I use the... left radio knob. The radio doesn't work so I built in a four-positions switch and fan resistor from Fiat Ducato - now I have four speed wipers. Unfortunately I don't have any picture of this. The right knob switches the antenna - in glove box is hided a new radio.
It may sound like a profanation - Renault, Fiat parts built in Cadillac ;), but i couldn't do anything with the vacuum wiper. It worked really good switched on an underpressure compressor, but didn't absolutely work in car.
That is a very nice installation.
I like looking at new cars and seeing just what I could use from them in my projects. Future or current.

Thank You. I will look if I can reproduce this during winter. I guess you have a separate fuse for the wiper motor?
The vacuum wiper in the 55 work only good if you have a new membrane in the vacuum manifold and your vacuum pump and wiper "motor" are working well. And you have no vacuum leaks.
Your setup is more reliable.
Could you please share information on the antenna you use?
I'm not sure but probably it was Beru A350 or A450. Tomorrow I'll bring endoscope camera and try to look in.
