I need help !
my Caddy pulls hard to the left when i brake.
What have i done: Reman power booster, reman master cylinder, new flex lines, new hard lines in the front, new brake shoes front and rear, new brake pumps front and rear.
The brakes are bled at least 10 times now, so no air .
I have adjust the star adjusting wheel on the right drum much closer then the left drum, no difference.
i don't know what to do.
Hoping someone can help.
There are a couple of things to do here.
(1) Ensure that the brake Shoes have been radius ground to match the drums.
(2) When adjusting the brakes, the top anchor bolt has to be adjusted to centralise the shoes. This is accomplished with the use of the feeler gauge through the slot in the drum, and the correct clearance must be maintained as per the Shop Manual. This is the only way to correctly set the adjustment of the anchor bolt.
(3) Now, the best modification that can be done to these brakes is to fit the self-adjusting components from a '60 or later. I retro-fitted a set of adjusters from a '66 diff to a '60, which for some unknown reason was missing the adjusters.

PS. The only way to properly machine the drums on these cars is to fit a wheel to the hub whilst it is on the lathe, as this holds the drum fully, so it cannot flex. The steel part of these drums allow the drum to flex around when the cutting tool is trimming the surface.
Also make sure that no grease or brake fluid has inadvertently gotten on the shoes.

Could this be the reasen for pulling to one side?
The only reason for pulling to one side is that something is not right.
(1) Could be faulty brakes.
(2) Could be wheel alignment.
(3) Could be incorrect tyre pressures of one or more wheels.
(4) Could be worn front end suspension parts.
