Hello all,
I what to buy a new voltage regulator for my 1955 Fleetwood. There are all kinds of brands and prices. Any suggestions on which brand you have success with or ones to avoid?

Thank you

I would replace it with an AC Delco. Why do you need a new regulator?

Bob Kielar

Worn cut out relay contacts. I thought I had it adjusted properly yesterday. Yesterday with a load on headlights and blower motors on at 1500rpm I was getting 14.8 volts. Today it went up to 18vdc. I tried adjusting the cut out relay again it would not make good contact just spark a little and with a load I had 11.2 vac if I adjusted the cut out relay I would get 18vdc. I just can't trust it.

Regards,
Bob

I bought a new A/C Delco unit last year using the OE P/N, it is still made or was then.

Hi David,
Did you have the cover off if so did it have the knobs for adjustments or are they fixed? Did you have to adjust it at all? Where did you purchase it from?

Thanks,
Bob Kielar

Bob, I ordered from Auto Valve parts store in Chippawa Falls, WI when I was working on the car there.

I have not made any adjustments to it, but all the car has done so far is idle.  The cover has not been off.
