Title: 1957 rear fender side long chrome trim removal
Post by: P Scala on August 18, 2017, 09:07:45 AM
How does the long chrome fender trim that runs the length of the 1957 convertible model 62 rear fender come off? Is it clips, bolts? I'm stripping the paint and can't see how it comes off.  Also does someone make new rear fender metal skins for rusted out sections in front of the rear tire? New to this site and just starting to restore my 1957 convertible .

I'm not sure about the convertible but on my '57 it is bolted from the inside. You need to remove the trunk lining and you will see 3/8" bolts holding it. The same will probably apply behind the rear armrests. Hope this helps. Chet 25441
