Engine Swap 4.1 V6 to 6.0 V8 Cadillac Eldorado 1961 6.0 doner and 1982 Builder

Well can it be done? if so whats the difficulty level on a scale of 1-10? >:D  Flatsix  J Mills

So you have a bad 1981 Eldo or Seville with a good DEFI 6.0 368 v8-6-4  and you have a good 1982 Eldorado with a bad 4.1 V6?

Lots of stuff is going to have to be swapped including the transmission, the 81 was still the 3 speed with a switch added for the 8-6-4, the 82's got the overdrive trans that didnt have the extra switch along with this you would swap part of the dash so the shift indicator lines up.  Complete wiring harnesses and ECUs will have to be swapped. I assume the fuse panel is the same but am not sure.  Fuel tanks will need to be swapped, 81 is EFI with in tank pump, 82 is carbbed with mechanical pump.  These are just what comes to mind right away.

Having both cars would be the way to go if you are going to do it but its going to be a lot of work.
