Hello,

I am rebuilding the differential in a series 62 and wondering if the full differential was black or was the third member cast coat? Were the nuts painted?

Were drums cast coat?

Can anyone tell me if the trans was blue or black as well? My tale housing is blue but the body I can't tell.

Thank you for any assistance.
John

As a frequent and gratuitous participant of the forum here, now labeled a "moocher" ...please consider the source:

The hydramatic was painted Cadillac engine blue lacquer as an assembly and the 3rd member was black lacquer as an assembly.

The brake drums were raw cast iron with no finish coating.
