Sorry if you see this twice. I can't find my post. I am interested in buying a 2004 Deville with the Talisman option. It has 75,000 miles and the dealer is asking $9,900. I can probably get it lower. I drove it and it drives like a new car. All the options including sunroof. I was wondering if this trim option came with any other features besides the vinyl roof with the Talisman nameplate. Car is Pearl White with saddle interior and is in like-new condition in and out. Should I grab this one fast?

im not sure when cadillac starting building quality back into their new cars....i know the 06s up are good....in my opinion id stay away from it within 25k miles it will probably need some major maintenance...struts are over 500 a peice and thats the part alone....labor is extra....not sure if they resolved the oil leak w northstars by 04 or not. i had a leak on my catera at 48k miles it took almost 1800. to resolve.  its really up to you but buy the bumper to bumper extended warranty....it will save u money when repair time comes.. just my opinion.

I don't believe Cadillac had a factory Talisman package after the mid 1970's.  The one on the car you are looking at is probably one of those dealer dress-up packages that their finance departments like so much.

That's interesting ...... I'd like to hear more about this '04 Talisman.  Cadillac only produced the factory Talismans for three years - 1974, 1975, and 1976.  All the years had individual front seats with a large console with flip-up writing table ........ the first year, 1974, had the same style console in the back making that year a four passenger car only ....... at nearly 20 feet in length.  I have a '75 which I bought a number of years ago;  I had never seen one in person before, and only a couple since.  A total of 4,336 Talismans were sold over those three years:  1,898 in 1974, 1,238 in 1975, and 1,200 in 1976.  None in 2004.

From 2000 - 2004 E&G, the folks who distribute Vogue Tyres and "Rolls Royce" grilles offered this package to dealers.  Its basicaslly just the formal vinyl top and badging.

That was not the first time one of those companies has used a name from Cadillac's past for one of their packages; a lady in my church has a '91 or '92 Sedan de Ville that has "La Salle Sedan" badging on the vinyl top.
