Title: Car accident, Parts & stuff
Post by: Lexi on February 15, 2024, 01:46:11 PM
As a pedestrian I recently got struck by a car and now in recovery mode. Lucky to be alive or not crippled. For those who have sent emails regarding parts and other enquiries for Cadillac information, I have not been able to physically get around as before, so please be patient. Just getting to the point where I can rumage through heavy parts and/or move stacks of books to look for stuff. Hope this explains my recent email reticence. Clay/Lexi

Take care of your self and get back to 100 percent, the hobby stuff can wait. Best for a speedy recovery.

Well at least you have a limo that's easy to climb into and allows someone to drive you around. The jump seats when pulled out with the backrest left down make a great ottoman, if you need to keep you legs up high. Hope that helps you recover more quickly! :)

Thanks guys. I am still here and part of the Cadillac family. Banged up, but up and about. Thanking God as it could have been so much worse. Just glad it wasn't a vintage Caddy that hit me or I would be done! Clay/Lexi

Geez Clay, what a horrible thing to go through.

If it was a new car, then you can be thankful for all the pedestrian-friendly fittings that were built into the car.

If it was an old car, with chrome bumpers, then you were very lucky.

Stay with us, and recuperate as best you can, and follow orders.

Bruce. >:D

Lexi,

Speedy recovery.

I hope the driver stuck around for insurance sake and rendered aid.

If this happened in Calif. it would have been a hit a run - scum bags.

Try to have fun,
Steve B.

The offending vehicle was an '08 Honda. Lots of previous damage to it, so difficult to say what mark I may have left. Between Heavy Metal, heavy weightlifting and my interest in heavy old Cadillacs, I guess I got some iron man in my genes, plus some Irish luck. Thank you to all. Glad to still be here. Clay/Lexi

Oh no! I'm a little late here, but I hope you're doing better Clay, thank god you're with us, because I read up all the time locally of the constant pedestrian accidents, particularly hit n runs where I live is rampant.

In many ways, it's good that newish modern cars are mostly all made out of plastic and cheap composite materials because of accidents like what you went through save lives. I wish you a speedy recovery.  :)

Thanks all. Also forgot to answer Steve's question. Yes the driver remained at the scene. As I was knocked some 8 - 10 feet in front of the vehicle I was also afraid of being run over if they fled. One of the reasons I got up immediately, but they did stop and remained at the scene. Clay/Lexi

Hey Bob, thanks for the kind words buddy. I am doing quite well and lucky to be on this side of the sod. Probably about 95% recovered now. Big "G" must have other plans for me as I am still here and looking forward to the upcoming driving/wrenching season! Clay/Lexi

People dont pay attention to pedestrians anymore.  Personally witnessed 3 deaths in Tempe AZ from people being checked in a crosswalk on Mill Ave.  Glad you're better!  Hope the offender doesn't have a license anymore.
