Mine are missing on my 54.

I've got a pair.

 Are those the same as the 56, because that's what they look like to me. The ones I took off the 55 are not the same,  if memory serves. I'd have to go pull them out and look again to be sure.

Mine are off a '56 and match my '56.  I don't know what's on a 54 or 55.
