My 1965 Hardtop Sedan de Ville has holes in the inner front fenders wheelhouse (see pictures).At a recent Cadillac Meet in Austria I took pictures of other 65s and how the holes are closed. There seem to be metal plates with wing nuts, metal plates with hex screws or plastic caps.
Does anyone know what was original for the 1965 Hardtop Sedan de Ville?

And what are these holes for?

Almost 100% sure the hex nut screws.
Age 69, Living in Gods waiting room ( Florida ) Owned over 40 Old Cadillac's from 1955's to 1990 Brougham's. Currently own a 1968 Cadillac DeVille Convertible and a 1992 Cadillac 5.7 Brougham.

Pointed hex head bolts. I believe 5/16 head, around 3/4 inch long.  Remove to access the fender bolts for any fender alignment issues.  Tabs in your pic have been added.  Chuck
