Not sure what type of battery terminals your year cars use, but with my 64 with the "spring ring" terminals, a couple seconds with pliers and they disconnect about as fast as a switch. You just have to have pliers handy which I keep in the glove box ... and it stays looking factory. I use to be leery of these connectors as I only saw them old and beat up, but the nice heavy duty ones are perfect for quick disconnects. I've had my battery terminals off several dozen times since installing them a year or so ago and still have the same firm secure grip.  Once you get the hang of it, its really a matter of 1 or 2 seconds.
