My 1941 Cadillac was totalled in a crash in January 2015, subsequently sold at auction by CoPart in St. Louis in March 2015 for $6200. I have never seen anything about it since then, and just wonder what became of it. $6200 is too much for just salvage, so was it restored, restomodded, or used as parts for another restoration?
The car was a 6219D sedan, Serial #8340926, with just over 400 miles on the odometer. It turned over all zeroes several months before the crash, coming home from the CLC 2014 Fall Festival at Hickory Corners.
I would just like to know if anyone has knowledge of this car. If anyone cares to contact me, I am in the CLC Directory in Illinois.

A picture of the car might help?

Not your car.  But a 61 eldorado was in a garage fire in Auburn hills Michigan.  It was totaled and sold through Copart

First sale yo someone in Swartz creek Michigan for $1200.  That person took the wire wheels off and sold again.

Next buyer was in California and paid for shipping.  $5000 or more on purchase plus shipping.  That buyer removed the bucket seat frames and maybe something else.  They sold the shell again.

Each time it sold the dollar amount went up.  I was very surprised.

Thanks, Jim Miller, for posting the photo of my wrecked 41. I have not yet figured out how to attach photos to a post on this forum.

Having done that type of repair work the vehicle appears reasonably repairable given parts availability and sufficient determination.

Sorry Bob,

I recall talking to you about your car a few years ago.  Wish I could be of help.  I would not be surprised if someone rebuilt your Cadillac.  Here is a picture of my "show quality" 1940 LaSalle 5227 which suffered a fate similar to yours.  I sold the wreck to a gentleman for $7,500.00.  Although Hagerty totaled it, the new owner found it not difficult to rebuildIMG_2007.JPG  and within six months had it looking like new again.

Surprising what a skilled bodyman/mechanic can do.

Good luck finding yours.

Very sad to see these pictures. Hope they are all repaired and live to see the road again. Clay/Lexi

Bob,

I would have been glad to be the one to rebuild that car.  I really like the 41 Series 62 models.  And it would have been meaningful to revive your car.

well, gosh.

Of *course* it gotten an accident, the driver couldn't possibly see over the hood!

oh, uh . . .

I think that the Maloof collection is still selling off some of the 41s in it.  Of the 150 or so cars, about two thirds were Cadillacs, and half of those were 41s.  It was the first thing he ever drove, so . . . there were even a few pairs of exact duplicates.

I met him to "say hello" at Auburn when he was paying Jack Miller for the off-white '41 four door convertible. As I recall, he had on a white naval themed jacket and a navy blue yachting cap. Nice gentleman.
