does anybody know off hand were the yellow wire on the driver side under the hood on top off the fender with the loop terminal go
In the 55 it comes from the starter to the coil resistor on the firewall. It gives a full 12 volts while starting. If that is it then it would be hot when the starter is engaged.
Jeff

Hmm, well there is/should be no “yellow†wire on that side ??? from the original standard hardness, unless someone splice one of these with the yellow.
The hardness on top of the inner fender (left driver side) would have the headlight, directional/parking and fog light (individual violet wire), plus the one for the blower motor which is close to the firewall.
Now if your car came with the Autronic-eye option there would be a “yellow†wire from the headlight foot switch terminal “1†to the power relay “B†(battery) terminal.
Does your car have the Autronic-eye option?
yes it does
thank you yes it does were is the power relay

The power relay should be mounted on the inner fender well (left driver side) close to the Autronic amplifier.
Attaching a picture of the components the power relay is the silver case on the bottom, the amplifier is the large black box on top of the picture. You can see from the picture the power relay wires also go to the amplifier while the foot switch wires will end at the power relay.
Good luck..!
j Gomez thank you very much
