How well did they polish between the fins? How about a close-up pic? For $5K they must be the best ever, eh? I always thought that they were anodized, bright and gold.

The only "Bumper Man" outfit that I'm aware of is
a franchise operation that does "on site" work for
garages and individuals out of a van.  And yes, they
specialize in BUMPERS.

You can't do chrome plating like that -- especially on
an aluminum wheel.  These are all hybrid aluminum /
steel wheels.

So tells us -- how were these wheels really done?  Also,
I notice the wheels are completely "chromed".  You can't
really chrome aluminum and steel without taking the
wheels apart since different plating solutions were used.

Some kind of polymer coating perhaps (paint)?

Mike, it was also what I'm asking myself. I suppose we will not have the answer!

Sabre wheels can be plated without being taken apart if the plater has larger tanks.  I've had over 75 sets of wheel plated without being separated and the chrome lasted for many many years.   I currently have a set on my 57 Eldorado and 54 convertible that were plated by The original Bumper Man.

Chroming is not cheap these days, and that looks like a pretty nice job if you ask me. Anybody thinking that's spray chrome is a little off base.....
