Title: WTB: 40 Lasalle Bumper Guards and Headlight Doors
Post by: Brad Ipsen CLC #737 on August 27, 2014, 10:34:58 PM
Wanted for 40 LaSalle 52 series but most models of 50 series also works:
1.  Headlight doors.
2.  Bumper guards for front without the grille guard.  Most models both the front and rear are the same.
3.  Tie rods from radiator support to firewall or just retainer to dash.

Hello Brad, I do not have bumper guards to sell but I have a question. My 40 Lasalle 50 series came with 2 sizes of bumper guards. Do the tall ones go on the front or the back? Thanks, Tom

Some one may have changed them for Cadillac type which are slightly higher Tom. Show a picture.

Hello Tom

Glad to read you are improving your LaSalle.

Without a picture or measurements I would surmise that the short are for 1939 LaSalle and the tall for 1940 LaSalle.

Tom,

The MPB shows a running change in the rear bumper guards of the 40-50.  All series 52 and 50 series fronts show the same in 40.  I don't know the difference in the second type of rear guards.  I do have the 52 series guards but need better ones for chroming.  I don't believe we have that other type of rear bumper guard for the 50 series in the Authenticity Manual.  A picture would help so others can verify that it is original LaSalle and not some substitute.

Hello Brad, I posted pictures and dimensions of my bumper guards in the Authenticity section so as not to hijack your WTB post more than I already have. Thanks.
