Thats always been the case.   But enforced now.   No proof of insurance, no entry to show field.   Tom CLC 6866

Pretty much every show we register that is hosted by a National or Regional Club of any significance requires this information. On a similar but different topic, more clubs are requesting Emergency Contact Information also.

Last week at a (non-Cad) club meeting, the leaders strongly suggested if your Emergency Contact is not also attending their show or events to have the Emer Contact be aware and recognize to answer any call, even if they don't recognize the number.

Last summer as an event that club was hosting was winding down, a long time member had a sudden & severe heart attack. The location was a stone's throw from the Fire Department; emergency personnel were there immediately.  The first responders resuscitated him and took him to the local hospital then transferred him to a larger hospital further away.

Many of his friends were also at the event but still scrambled to find who had his wife's phone number.  Once the number was found, they called but no answer; it was later explained 'she didn't recognize the phone number'.  Eventually a call was made to their hometown police department and an officer was dispatched to speak with her and explain the emergency situation. A lot of time was lost but I think she had an opportunity to speak with him before he was gone.
