Email addresses in Posts and PMs

I see some posts where folks add their email addresses. I have tried that recently and received an email address not permitted in both posts and PMs. See below

Any idea why some folks can add theirs and others cannot? I sent an email to webmaster but have not heard back.

G'day John,

Firstly, in order to protect Members from Spammers, we do not encourage Members putting their personal information for everyone to see.   This is in regards to Telephone Numbers and email addresses for contact when buying or selling.

What has happened is that in order to try and stop the access to Spammers from accessing Members email addresses, the Webmaster created a method of automatically making email addresses unreadable to the spammers by encrypting the last part of the email address, as in gmail or yahoo.

One has to remember that these spammers have methods of automatically searching for the "the letter 'a' with a ring around it" in texts which shows that there is an email address that can be copied.   

BUT, as there are so many different email suppliers, it is impossible to cover everyone, which is why some get posted, and others not.

The best way for Members to personally contact Members is to initially send a Personal Message (PM) in order to create the initial contact.   Then, any other correspondence can be either by PM or email, if images need to be sent or received.

This is where the International Membership Directory comes in handy, as the Members email addresses and phone numbers are listed.

There are ways of getting the message across by being creative in typing an email address and phone number to defeat the hackers.
