Really nice.
I like the no vinyl top, the body lines fit together perfectly.
17K original miles.

Some prefer the minimal trim of the Calais without vinyl roof (although vinyl roof was still optional on deVilles) which also carries the incidental benefit of less moisture entrapment areas.

On a side note, 1971 was also the only year of the 71-73 generation in which the Series 75 did not receive the lower body rocker trim giving it a "Calais" look.

A good friend ordered a new metallic blue 1971 CDV with no vinyl top and the salesman strongly discouraged it.

At some point you could order a Calais with a vinyl top, certainly by 1973

If there was ever a case for "less is more," its this one.

The usual case with low end Cadillac purchases was the original owner could really afford a Buick but wanted a Cadillac as a lifetime crowning achievement I believe and babied and cherished the car then dies and the Wife cannot bring herself to sell it so it sits. A friend of my Grandmother in 1968 ordered a new 1968 Calais Coupe in silver with black cloth radio delete and NO options except Climate Control only including black wall tires. She traded in her Pontiac. She paraded that car around town like a peacock and drove it year round in Rochester New York for 10 years it finally rusted out and went to scrap with the factory installed clear plastic seat covers on.
