Title: What are people signing up for the forum this month being told?
Post by: TJ Hopland on April 23, 2024, 11:42:58 AM
I'm wondering what new sign ups are seeing or being told related to the upcoming policy change?  Are they clearly being told that if they don't join the CLC they are out in a month or less?

I was just looking and so far this month 27 people have signed up and been approved for the forum.  Out of the 27 4 of those have CLC numbers. The member numbers are high enough that some of them are likely from around the same time as the forum registration.  Out of those 27 only 10 have posted something and out of the 4 with CLC numbers only 1 has posted.  Not actually doing any math it looks like that ratio has been fairly consistent over the last few months.

If you sign out and then click to sign up, there is no mention of any upcoming change in the forum rules.

That makes sense I'm just curious about people that were not forum members before that just signed up.  I'm wondering what their experience has been like so far.  Are they feeling like 'we' want them here?  Or are they going to be kinda surprised when they can't post in a couple weeks?

If any new people are reading this please reply and let us know what you have seen or been told.

Our webmaster is planning another email blast to all Forum members prior to conversion to member's only.  Forum rules will also be updated and reposted.

Jason, I just wished you'd of given me an honest answer when I asked who put the motion before the board to vote on this matter. My question was very specific when I asked. You stated it wasn't just one person.

Dan. Look at your April Self-Starter, page 12, under "The News From Dallas" article which highlights our Winter Board Meeting and you will see the name that made the motion. I have not publicly posted that name because this was a group discussion & group decision, and the one that brought it up for motion was just one of many that agreed in favor. If you need a name supporting this, put mine down at the top, although again it was a group consensus and not a decision made by me or the person that presented the motion. I really don't know how to make this more clear.

Jason,
I asked a simple question and the answer you gave made was NOT correct and you decided to omit the name, it's all about transparency my friend. If it was good enough to put in print then it should've been good enough to answer the question on the Fourm.

Lars made the motion. He is on the executive committee and volunteered to submit the motion. What does that really tell you? We had a vote and and it was unanimous except for one voting nay.  The bottom line is this was  discussed at length by many, and voted in favor by an overwhelming majority. You of all people should know how our process works.  I don't like being publicly called out but since you insist I have to be candid. Our board meetings are public and all members are invited to attend.
