1939 Cadillac LaSalle

We have a 1939 Cadillac LaSalle, series 50, 4 door sedan.  We are trying to find a picture of the running boards and a place that we can buy the material or have them made at a reasonable cost.  We tried Vintage Running Boards but they cost almost or over $2000.  Can anyone help us?

I dont think theres anywhere else for the rubbers these days, Steele rubber has been dis continuing there stocks for some years. Vintage boards seem to have a good monopoly on it these days.

Restoration Specialties in Winbar PA has rubber matting.  The pattern on one of the types they had was very similar to what was used on 38 LaSalles.  I don't know about 39's however.  3M Scotch-Weld 1357 is a high performance contact adhesive which can adhere the rubber matting to the steel substrate of the old boards, as long as they are in good shape and have been thoroughly cleaned.

Ive had to resort to a similar solution myself Tom, it was a sad day when Steele's stopped a lot of their matting and to ship boards to the US from UK to have Vintage boards recover them and send them back amounted to about $4500,  ouch! I had to make do with a rubber that was similar.
Wonder what happened to all the running board molds from years ago? Steele's used to list 2 full pages of mats in the 80s, now its just a few.
